The Best of Both Worlds

As I have stated before there are two different types of electronic signatures. One being biometric – using a tablet PC to capture a real signature using a stylus pen. The other type being digital – using the mouse to “click to sign” creating a likeness of the signature and time stamping and drawing an IP address from signees computer. Each is great and both useful in the transaction flow. But how to have the ability to perform both types of signatures using one service? Again here is where Real Estate Dashboard is way ahead of the crowd! Starting in October clients will now be able to capture real biometric signatures using their tablets and digital “click to sign” signatures (Esignonline) using a mouse from any computer! Imagine the following situation where you create clickable areas within the contract or form, be it a signature area, date stamp, check box, drop down menu, text box… the client receives this form and follows the instructions to sign and fill in respective areas using their mouse and keyboard. When the document has been signed by all parties it comes back to the creator and they can choose to store and secure the document back in the Vault (dashboard) and everyone receives an email of the signed document.
And you ask about security? Before the client signs they are asked to agree to a disclosure basically stating that they agree that they are the actual person signing the document. When they sign it creates a likeness of their signature (signor can choose signature font), a date and time stamp, and draws an IP address to the computer the signor used. And as I have said before… if you know what time the signature happened, and on what date, and from which computer there is a lot of evidence to withhold the validity of the electronic signature. With a piece of physical paper it takes a group of forensic scientists to figure out if the signature is real or forged!
So without getting too “techie” here is the real world application. As I have said before the real estate agent MUST build relationships and the only way to do that is in person! The beginning of any transaction is the listing agreement and should be done in person. This is a chance to showcase the way you perform your business. Showing up with a mobile business class tablet in hand, with your forms loaded and ready for biometric signature. Once there is an offer on the table and the deal is moving towards escrow there are several forms that can be signed using digital “click to sign” signatures. And think about the cases where the client is out of town… or a spouse is out of town. Simply send them the document and they can access from any computer and “click to sign”.
